Summer Days, Cornwall Memories and New Arrivals at Love My Lot

What a summer it has been so far!

Between the beautiful sunshine, unusually hot days and the end-of-term rush, the past few weeks seem to have flown by. We have also just returned from a wonderful family holiday in Cornwall, which gave us a much-needed opportunity to slow down, spend time together and enjoy plenty of fresh sea air.

Cornwall is one of our favourite places. We spent our days walking, swimming, exploring rock pools and enjoying the beaches around Newquay. I even managed some snorkelling and was lucky enough to see shoals of fish weaving through the kelp, while my husband discovered a tiny cuttlefish in one of the rock pools. It was one of those holidays filled with simple moments that we will remember for a very long time.

While we were away, Love My Lot remained open for orders, with a notice explaining that parcels would be dispatched once we returned.

I would like to say a heartfelt thank you to everyone who placed an order and patiently waited for me to get home. As soon as we returned, I was straight back to packing parcels, printing labels and working through all of your lovely orders.

There is something very special about coming home to see that people have chosen items from my little shop while I have been away. Every order genuinely means so much to me, and I never take your support for granted.

Love My Lot is still a small, family-run business, so behind every parcel is a real person carefully checking, wrapping and packing your order. Thank you for keeping me so busy!

A Summer of Change for Our Family

Life behind the scenes has been especially busy this year too.

Our little boy will be starting his specialist school in September, which feels like such an important new chapter for him and for our whole family. There is naturally a mixture of excitement, emotion and the usual parental nerves, but we are incredibly proud of him and hopeful that he will be somewhere that truly understands and supports him.

Running Love My Lot alongside family life can sometimes mean working during nap times, in the evenings or whenever I find a quiet moment. It can be wonderfully chaotic, but it is also one of the reasons the shop means so much to me.

I choose many of the products with my own children in mind: the stories they enjoy, the characters that make them smile and the toys that encourage comfort, imagination, sensory exploration and play.

Some Lovely New Arrivals

Alongside packing your orders, I have also been busy adding some gorgeous new finds to the website.

The latest arrivals include some particularly lovely pieces from The Very Hungry Caterpillar collection. There are colourful developmental toys for curious little hands, a crinkly activity toy complete with an orange slice and a vinyl bath book that is perfect for making bath time a little more entertaining.

For little ones who love stories and familiar characters, there are also new Tonies, including the bright and cheerful Doggyland Tonie. Tonies are such a lovely screen-free option for car journeys, quiet afternoons, bedtime listening or keeping children entertained during the summer holidays.

I have also recently added more Bing favourites. From cuddly Bing and Flop characters to smaller friends that are just the right size for little hands, these are lovely choices for children who enjoy taking a familiar companion along on their everyday adventures.

Winnie the Pooh will always have a special place at Love My Lot too, and the Disney Winnie the Pooh 100 Gift Set is a particularly sweet choice for a new baby, birthday or special keepsake gift.

As always, every new addition has been carefully selected because it is something I would be happy to buy for my own children or give as a gift.

Looking Ahead

The rest of the summer is likely to be another busy one, filled with family days, preparations for September and plenty more parcels being packed at Love My Lot HQ.
